Kia Ora!
I’m a freelance writer, blogger and author, based in Aotearoa (New Zealand).
I’m your typical mama, juggling many balls, sometimes dropping them, and I believe that some of us women are making ourselves sick trying to “DO IT ALL” – an impossible goal.
I’m striving to simplify my life to make room for great experiences and memories with my family and friends.
I write frequently about PND and parenting.
PND robs you of precious moments with your family, which is why it’s so important to get the support and help needed to lift off that heavy fog! It is really hard to describe how it feels, to be sucked by this invisible magnet holding you to the ground, and your feelings may not line up with my experiences. I do encourage mamas who are finding each day hard to seek out some support from a loved family member, friend, trusted doctor, midwife or even the helplines. Finally being able to say to someone, ‘actually, I feel like crap,” can be such a relief. Our babies grow up far too quickly to miss the joy of it, and I try super hard to prioritise self care now so that I don’t relapse.
